Ein Taith Ddysgu/ Our Learning Journey

Yn ein hysgol ni, mae pob tymor yn dechrau gyda thema gyffredinol sy'n tywys ein taith ddysgu ar y cyd, gan helpu i greu ymdeimlad cyffredin o bwrpas a chyffro ar draws y cwricwlwm. O fewn y thema hon, mae disgyblion yn arwain y ffordd trwy lunio eu cwestiynau a'u syniadau mawr eu hunain, gan ganiatáu inni rannu dysgu yn ddarnau ystyrlon a diddorol sy'n adlewyrchu eu diddordebau a'u chwilfrydedd. Mae ein cynllunio ac addysgu yn cwmpasu dysgu yn yr awyr agored, TGCh, ac ystod eang o sgiliau trawsgwricwlaidd, gan sicrhau bod plant yn profi cyfleoedd dysgu cyfoethog, amrywiol a pherthnasol. Trwy gysylltu gwersi â chyd-destunau bywyd go iawn ac annog archwilio gweithredol, rydym yn ymdrechu i wneud pob profiad dysgu yn bwrpasol, yn berthnasol, ac yn ysbrydoledig i'n holl ddysgwyr.

At our school, each term begins with an overarching theme that guides our collective learning journey, helping to create a shared sense of purpose and excitement across the curriculum. Within this theme, pupils lead the way by shaping their own big questions and ideas, allowing us to break learning into meaningful, engaging chunks that reflect their interests and curiosity. Our planning and teaching encompass outdoor learning, ICT, and a wide range of cross-curricular skills, ensuring children experience rich, varied, and relevant learning opportunities. By connecting lessons to real-life contexts and encouraging active exploration, we strive to make every learning experience purposeful, relatable, and inspiring for all our learners.

Theme for Autumn term 2025: My Square Mile

Mae ein thema, Fy Milltir Sgwâr, yn gwahodd disgyblion i archwilio a dathlu nodweddion unigryw eu hardal leol. Mae'r thema hon yn agor y drws i brofiadau dysgu cyfoethog ac ymarferol—o ymchwilio i lefydd cyfarwydd a thirnodau cymunedol i dynnu ar gyfarfyddiadau a straeon bywyd go iawn o'r cartref. Drwy gysylltu dysgu'n uniongyrchol â'r byd o'u cwmpas, mae disgyblion yn datblygu dealltwriaeth ddyfnach o ble maen nhw'n byw ac ymdeimlad cryfach o berthyn, gan wneud eu dysgu'n ystyrlon, yn berthnasol ac yn gyffrous.

Our current theme, My Square Mile, invites pupils to explore and celebrate the unique features of their local area. This theme opens the door to rich, hands-on learning experiences—from investigating familiar places and community landmarks to drawing on real-life encounters and stories from home. By connecting learning directly to the world around them, pupils develop a deeper understanding of where they live and a stronger sense of belonging, making their learning meaningful, relevant, and exciting.

Theme for Spring term 2026: News @ 10

Mae ein thema, Newyddion @ 10, yn rhoi cyfle i ddisgyblion archwilio digwyddiadau a sefyllfaoedd cyfoes sy'n llunio bywydau cymunedau yn lleol ac yn fyd-eang. Drwy'r thema hon, mae dysgwyr yn ymgysylltu â phynciau pwysig ac weithiau heriol, fel rhyfel a gwrthdaro, newid hinsawdd, llygredd, cost byw, a syniadau gwleidyddol gan gynnwys pleidleisio a democratiaeth, mewn ffordd sensitif sy'n briodol i'w hoedran. Mae'r dull hwn yn helpu disgyblion i wneud synnwyr o'r byd o'u cwmpas, gan ddarparu profiadau dysgu cyfoethog ac ystyrlon sy'n dyfnhau eu dealltwriaeth o'r hyn sy'n digwydd yn y byd ehangach.

Our theme, News @ 10, gives pupils the opportunity to explore current events and situations that shape the lives of communities both locally and globally. Through this theme, learners engage with important and sometimes challenging topics, such as war and conflict, climate change, pollution, the cost of living, and political ideas including voting and democracy, in a sensitive, age-appropriate way. This approach helps pupils make sense of the world around them, providing rich, meaningful learning experiences that deepen their understanding of what is happening in the wider world.

Theme for Summer term 2026: At the seaside

Mae ein thema, Ar Lan y Môr, yn cynnig cyfleoedd cyffrous i ddisgyblion ddysgu am lygredd y môr, diogelwch dŵr, a'r bywyd gwyllt amrywiol sy'n byw ar ein harfordiroedd. Mae dysgwyr yn archwilio sut mae trefi glan môr wedi newid dros amser, gan ddatgelu mewnwelediadau hanesyddol diddorol tra hefyd yn ehangu eu gwybodaeth ddaearyddol trwy gymharu lleoliadau arfordirol o bob cwr o'r byd â'r llefydd glan môr lleol y maent eisoes yn eu hadnabod. Trwy dynnu ar brofiadau'r plant eu hunain ac adeiladu ar eu dealltwriaeth bresennol, rydym yn dyfnhau eu gwybodaeth ac yn eu helpu i wneud cysylltiadau ystyrlon â'u dysgu a'r byd ehangach.

Our theme, At the Seaside, offers pupils exciting opportunities to learn about sea pollution, water safety, and the diverse wildlife that inhabits our coastlines. Learners explore how seaside towns have changed over time, uncovering fascinating historical insights while also broadening their geographical knowledge by comparing coastal locations from around the world with the local seaside places they already know. By drawing on the children’s own experiences and building on their existing understanding, we deepen their knowledge and help them make meaningful connections to both their learning and the wider world.
